It amazes me how people like you exist in your lala land...why don't you also change the congress and the the house rep that way you will get exactly what you want. Sadly you cannot even vote right!!! You can be critical of IV if you have a basis for your argument most of us like to sit on our lazy boy and do nothing. So instead of saying we need a change why don't you do something about it empty words mean nothing in this forum.
I think a change of leadership of IV is critical if we have to get anywhere. IV has not been able to achieve a single thing in all of its existence. Not a single thing, nada, zitto, zapata. Not disclosing the issues they are working on, not disclosing how the funds are distributed, not disclosing the lobbyist they are using. Who in the world calls that leadership!
That is the reason that no one wants to contribute. First get some results, show people results for what they have paid for. Then ask for more money. Most people I talk to are confident that IV will achieve nothing given their track record. I tried to convince a colleague to join IV. He bet with me that they will not be able to achieve even this filing I-485 issue. He bet that he will join and pay if they did.
I know IV works like dIVorced wIVes club and saying anything negative is taboo. Anyone saying anything negative is crushed with (p)curses. Only good mushy things are allowed here. So here it is: We will get our GCs by the end of the month. Hallelujah!
But I am writing this for the benefit of IV and please take this as constructively as you can. As a member, I have full right to suggest a change of leadership when I think it can help.

How long does it take to get the "prevailing wage info"? Does it come from State DOL or the Federal DOL?? I'm from Ohio

Hi Nat,
Fragomen took about 6 months in getting "prevailing wage info" for my case in 2001. My manager ( Canadian who had gone through US GC process himself) finally talked to them and asked them to file without waiting for DOL's reply on prevailing wage. (That was a risk but we agreed to take it at that point)
That six months delay costed me 6 years in GC processing ! But thanks to my manager , otherwise I dont know how many more years I would have waited.(One of my co-worker still awaits his labor cert !)
The big law firm goes by predefined steps , which are probably the safest way for most cases but may not be the fastest way. You need somebody who has been through this process and can understand and asks good questions to lawyers and can help lawyers to think for your perticular case. Check if you have somebody in your org to do that.

One way is to invest regularly in 401 K. By that way you let your investments grow tax free and if you have to or go back to India then you can withdraw them next year, TAX free or less tax. Thus you actually pay less tax and ultimately you might pay lesser tax than your social security. Who cares if the social security is being taken from me.

It shows how aware and alert you are. It shows how you refuse to face this unfair system. It shows that you want to fight for your rights....

What about people with pending PERM applications?

There is no guarantee that BECs will process petitions by Octobet 1st either. Someone has to clarify if pending labor petitions will be eligible for the 90,000 quota or not. The INA section 212(5)(A) refers to labor petitions in general - PERM or BEC.

I work for company A on H1 B. Got offer from company B and I accepted it set all the papers for H1 B transfer. Company B filed for LCA and recvd. it. They are ready to file for H1 B transfer. Gave notice to company A and they countered the offer and I want to stay.
Now my concern is as Company B has filed for LCA but H1 transfer is not filed yet. If I decline the offer will it effect my current H1 B?

We are quick in jumping at each others throat for no apparent real reason ! Being part of a forum is sharing space with others, with those whom you disagree, and those who disagree with you. Argue logically, but don't make it a personal fight.
Don't agree with someone, make your displeasure known. If things seem to be getting hotter, ignore the other person. Live and let live. We have bigger issues to worry here - GC mess - instead of who said what !

Instead, according to reports, this legislation will proceed based on an altogether new and expedited procedure designed for the sole purpose of forcing the bill's many ill-conceived policies over legitimate minority objections.
As it has before, for the sake of open deliberation and public education, The Heritage Foundation is making this legislation publicly available to encourage widespread debate and discussion. I am seriously considering this option. I have over 6 years experience as Manager in two large Indian IT companies (part of which is in L1A visa). However, I have detailed experience letter for about 2.5 years. The other company (through which I came on L1A earlier) does not give detailed experience letter per their policy. They gave a summary letter with start date-end date, designation and basic salary. I can get maximum point with 4 years experience.
Does anyone know if Canadian Immigration accept secondary evidence like coworkers letter and/or my job description as mentioned in the L1 petition by that company.
Also, does anyone know how much prep is required for IELTS ?
